| Le Stang is ideally located for exploring the wonderful Breton countryside. Numerous footpaths and cycleways pass near to the cottage - more adventurous walkers and cyclists will find a large-scale map and magnetic compass have been provided! You can also walk, cycle or take a boat trip up the nearby River Blavet, and the village of Pont Augan has kayak and cycle hire. | The picturesque Lac du Guerledan is a 30-minute drive to the north. You can swim, take boat trips, hire pedalos & kayaks or just sunbathe on one of the beaches. The nearest coastal beaches (also a 30-minute drive) are to the west of Lorient at Guidel and Larmor-Plage. A little further away (40-50 minutes) are the more popular resorts of Carnac and Quiberon. |

The old town of Concarneau is located on an island in the harbour and is surrounded by fortified walls. In Pont-Aven, a river runs through the centre of the chocolate-box village and a walk along the riverbank takes you past many pretty houses and mills. |

| The beautiful medieval town of Josselin is a 40-minute drive to the east of Le Stang. The cobbled streets are lined with ancient buildings around an ancient château. You can also visit the very tall church bell tower and climb to the top for magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. |
